What we do
We explore how local innovations and global policies intersect to drive systemic change, ensuring that international frameworks are both inspired by and responsive to community-led transformations. And we co-develop our research projects and advocacy with civil society, policymakers, scientists and the private sector to ensure international sustainability efforts are informed by emergent innovations and forge real-world solutions.
Our research focuses primarily on the European Union and Africa, including Benin, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, and South Africa. TMG Research staff based in Nairobi, Kenya lead on implementing efforts.
Our Focus
Land
Our work involves analyzing structural barriers that hinder land users from enjoying their legitimate rights. Together with our partners, we explore context-specific solutions and innovations to overcome these barriers.
Climate
This research programme explores how to strengthen multi-actor collaboration and other enabling conditions to fully harness the power of adaptation as a sustainable solution for entrenched challenges in the agrifood and other critical sectors.
Food Systems
Drawing on in-depth scientific knowledge, and our long-standing experience in the governance of food systems, we advise and shape agricultural policy reforms at national and regional level.
